Today, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with the Omani Deputy Prime Minister and Personal Representative of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said , Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq al Said, on the sidelines of the first League of States (LAS)-EU Summit in Sharm El Sheikh.

 

 

Today, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met

with the Omani Deputy Prime Minister and Personal Representative of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said , Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq al Said, on the sidelines of the first League of States (LAS)-EU Summit in Sharm El Sheikh.

President El Sisi asked for his greetings to be conveyed to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and lauded the strong bilateral ties that the two countries share. The President looked forward to further enhancing these relations across various fields to realise common interests. This is in addition to exchanging views on regional issues. The President highlighted the balanced and wise Omani policy under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq al Said highlighted the special Egyptian-Omani relations and the long history of cordiality and cooperation that the two countries and peoples have shared. He affirmed his country’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with Egypt at all levels and to continue to push the cooperation frameworks to wider horizons, especially in light of the special status that Egypt enjoys at both the official and popular levels in Oman and Egypt’s supportive role of the security and stability of the Arab countries and particularly Gulf countries.

The meeting touched on a number of regional and international issues, mainly the Palestinian issue, where both views agreed on the importance of concerted efforts to break the current stalemate in the peace process and resolve the Palestinian issue in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the Palestinian people and ensures their rights, in line with the relevant international references and resolutions. Views were also exchanged on the latest developments in the Middle East, particularly the crisis in Syria and Yemen.
