استقبل السيد الرئيس/ عبد الفتاح السيسي صباح اليوم الفريق أول/ جوزيف فوتيل قائد القيادة المركزية الأمريكية، وذلك بحضور السيد الفريق أول/ محمد زكي القائد العام للقوات المسلحة وزير الدفاع والإنتاج الحربي، والسيد/ توماس جولدبرجر القائم بأعمال السفير الأمريكي بالقاهرة.
وإنطلاق فعاليات التدريب المشترك .. النجم الساطع .. من اليوم وحتى 20 الجاري
وصرح السفير/ بسام راضي المُتحدث الرسمي باِسم رئاسة الجمهورية أن السيد الرئيس أكد خلال اللقاء أهمية العلاقات الاستراتيجية المتنامية بين مصر والولايات المتحدة، ولاسيما فيما يتعلق بالتعاون العسكري القائم بين البلدين، ورحب سيادته في هذا الإطار باِنطلاق فعاليات التدريب المشترك “النجم الساطع 2018” والذي يُقام خلال الفترة من 8 إلى 20 سبتمبر الجاري، وكذا ما شهدته الأيام الماضية من تنفيذ تدريبات مشتركة بين الجانبين لتبادل الخبرات في مجال مكافحة الإرهاب. وفي هذا السياق، استعرض السيد الرئيس التطورات الجارية لجهود مكافحة الإرهاب على كافة المحاور والاتجاهات الاستراتيجية.
وأضاف المتحدث الرسمي أن قائد القيادة المركزية الأمريكية أشاد من جانبه بقوة ومتانة العلاقات العسكرية بين البلدين، مؤكداً حرص بلاده على استمرار تطوير علاقات الشراكة مع مصر وتعزيزها في المجالات كافة، ومنوهاً في هذا الإطار إلى فعاليات التدريب المشترك “النجم الساطع 2018″، وما تعكسه من أهمية وعمق التعاون العسكري بين البلدين خاصة في ظل الظروف التي تمر بها المنطقة، والتي تتطلب تضافر الجهود للتصدي للتحديات التي تهدد أمن واستقرار المنطقة والعالم. كما ثمن الفريق أول/ جوزيف فوتيل الجهود التي تبذلها مصر في مجال مكافحة الإرهاب، مشيداً في هذا الإطار بدور مصر في تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار الإقليميين.
كما تناول اللقاء سُبل الارتقاء بالتعاون العسكري بين مصر والولايات المتحدة، بالإضافة للتطرق إلى آخر التطورات والمستجدات على الصعيد الإقليمي، في ضوء الأزمات القائمة في عدد من دول المنطقة.
Mr. Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi, received this morning Chief of the US Central Command, Joseph Fotill, in the presence of General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, and Thomas Goldberger, Acting US Ambassador to Cairo.
Ambassador Bassam Radhi, Spokesman for the Presidency, said that during the meeting, the Egyptian President stressed the importance of the growing strategic relations between Egypt and the United States, particularly with regard to the military cooperation between the two countries. He welcomed the launch of the joint training activities “Bright Star 2018” During the period from 8 to 20 September, as well as the past days of the implementation of joint exercises between the two sides to exchange experiences in the field of combating terrorism. In this context, the President reviewed the ongoing developments in counter-terrorism efforts on all strategic fronts and trends.
The Spokesman added that the Commander of the US Central Command praised the strength and strength of the military relations between the two countries, stressing his country’s keenness to continue to develop and strengthen the partnership relations with Egypt in all fields, and in this context to the joint training activities “Bright Star 2018” The importance and depth of the military cooperation between the two countries, especially in light of the circumstances experienced by the region, which requires concerted efforts to address the challenges that threaten the security and stability of the region and the world. He also praised Egypt’s efforts in combating terrorism, praising Egypt’s role in strengthening regional security and stability.
The meeting also discussed means of enhancing military cooperation between Egypt and the United States, as well as the latest developments and developments at the regional level, in light of the crises in a number of countries in the region.
