استقبل السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اليوم سمو الشيخ صباح الأحمد الجابر الصباح، أمير دولة الكويت، وذلك على هامش انعقاد أعمال القمة العربية الأوروبية الأولى بشرم الشيخ.

وصرح السفير بسام راضي، المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية، بأن السيد الرئيس رحب بأخيه أمير الكويت في مصر؛ مؤكداً سيادته اعتزاز مصر الكامل بالروابط الوثيقة والأزلية التي تجمع بين البلدين والشعبين الشقيقين، والتي تستمد متانتها ورسوخها من علاقاتهما التاريخية وإيمانهما بوحدة الهدف والمصير.
كما أكد السيد الرئيس أهمية استمرار البناء على حجم الزخم الذي تشهده أطر التعاون الثنائى بين البلدين فى شتى المجالات، فضلاً عن دفع آليات التشاور والتنسيق المتبادل بشأن مجمل القضايا والتطورات المتلاحقة في منطقتنا العربية.
من جانبه؛ ثمن سمو الشيخ صباح العلاقات المتميزة والأخوية بين البلدين، مؤكداً استمرار الموقف الكويتي الثابت والداعم لأمن مصر واستقرارها، ومتمنياً لمصر قيادةً وشعباً دوام الرخاء والازدهار.
كما أعرب أمير الكويت عن تقدير بلاده العميق للجهود المصرية التي تقوم بها على الساحة العربية تعزيزاً لمسار التضامن والعمل العربي المشترك، وعلى نحو يرسخ من دعائم السلم والأمن الإقليمي والدولي.
وأضاف السفير بسام راضي أن اللقاء تطرق إلى تطورات عدد من الملفات والقضايا الإقليمية ذات الاهتمام المشترك، حيث تم تأكيد أهمية تضافر الجهود العربية فى مواجهة التحديات المختلفة التي تشهدها المنطقة حفاظاً على الأمن القومي العربي، وأن تكون الحلول المطروحة للأزمات الإقليمية نابعة من المنطقة، بما يسمح للشعوب العربية أن تحدد مصيرها بنفسها على نحو يلبي تطلعاتها في العيش في سلام وأمن.
Today, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with His Highness the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on the sidelines of the first League of Arab States-EU Summit in Sharm El Sheikh.
President El Sisi welcomed Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed and underscored Egypt’s appreciation for the longstanding and firm bonds that the two countries and their peoples share. He noted that these bonds derive their strength from the two countries’ historic relations and their belief in the unity of their purpose and destiny.
President El Sisi underlined the need to continue to build on the momentum in the two countries’ cooperation in all fields. The President confirmed the importance of further enhancing mechanisms of consultations and coordination between Egypt and Kuwait on issues and developments in the Arab region.
His Highness the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, valued the outstanding brotherly relations between Egypt and Kuwait. He confirmed Kuwait’s unwavering position in support of the security and stability of Egypt. Kuwait’s Emir wished Egypt’s people and leadership prosperity and welfare.
His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad also expressed Kuwait’s profound appreciation for Egypt’s efforts in the Arab arena to enhance solidarity and joint Arab action and to reinforce peace and security regionally and internationally.
The meeting tackled developments in a number of regional issues and dossiers of mutual interest. The two leaders emphasized the importance of concerted Arab action in the face of the various challenges facing the region in order to preserve Arab national security. They asserted that proposed solutions for the regional crises must emanate from the region to allow the Arab peoples to determine their own fate and fulfil their aspirations to live in peace and security.
